About Me
Hi, I'm Gabriela.
I'm a Brazilian-born writer, educator, and editor.
Over my life, I’ve lived in three countries—Brazil, the United States, and the Netherlands—visited 26 countries (and aim to visit a new one each year), and learned five languages. Portuguese and English are my native tongues; Spanish, French, and Italian I learned through formal education and independent study; and German is next on the docket. I don’t believe that more is always better, but with respect to languages and learning, I can never get enough.
Each month, I memorize a poem––not as a performance or party trick––but as a way of keeping language I love alive in my memory.
In 2024, I graduated summa cum laude from Hamilton College with Honors degrees in Literature and Philosophy, a Phi Beta Kappa membership, and years of experience that shape what I do now. At Hamilton, I worked for three years as a writing and oral communication tutor, assisted in Ancient Philosophy research and teaching, and served as Managing Editor of Book XI, a literary philosophy journal I still contribute to today through bimonthly newsletters that aim to bolster public humanities.
In 2025, I was awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship in Peru. I spent a year teaching high-achieving, underserved high school students in Arequipa and Áncash and helping launch literary magazines that gave young writers and artists a creative platform.
I bring over six years of working with writers and thinkers in academic and professional settings, and a lot of love for both.
